wash and soak 1 small bowl of  yellow moongdal for 10 min.heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil in it.tip in mustards-1/2 tsp,jeera-1 tsp, let them change colour.now tip in chopped onion-1 small,green chillies-2 slit,curry leaves-1 sprig and fry for a minute.now add soaked and drained moongdal-1 small bowl,fry until the aroma comes from the dal and add water-3 small bowls and cook in medium flame until moongdal turns soft.add red chilli powder-3/4 tsp and salt-1/4 tsp or according to taste.the dal should not turn mushy.serve with rice or parantha.
